Thoughts are living aspects; a thought is something solid. We may cease to exist, but our thoughts will endure. Every change in thought is accompanied by a vibration of its mental matter, like a force that requires a special kind of subtle matter for its work. The stronger the thoughts, the sooner they bear fruit. If a thought is focused and directed in a particular way, and to the extent that it is focused and directed in this manner, it is effective in achieving the desired outcome. These are subtle forces, and we nourish them with the food we consume.

If the nourishment is pure, the thought is also pure. One who has pure thoughts and a sense of eloquence is powerful and makes a profound impression on the minds of those who listen. With the purity of positive thoughts, one influences others. Cultivating pure and sublime thoughts benefits both ourselves and our environment; this cultivation is an exact science.

This world we know is nothing but thoughts—pain, old age, death, and harm; earth, water, fire, air, ether. Thought enslaves man. One who cultivates thoughts and directs them toward a positive purpose is truly the one who can divinize their world. First comes the thought, then the expression of that thought through the organ of speech; they are intimately connected. The five senses—sound, touch, form, taste, and color; the states of wakefulness, dreaming, and deep sleep—are all products of the mind. Passion, anger, bondage, time—these too are results of the mind. The eyes, representing the windows of the soul, speak of the condition and state of the mind.

Thoughts of worry and fear are tremendous forces within us. They poison the very forces of life and destroy harmony, efficiency, vitality, and vigor. In contrast, positive thoughts of contentment, joy, and courage heal and awaken the potential of the being, immensely increasing efficiency and multiplying mental capacities.

The type of thought weakens or strengthens the body; a healthy body fosters a healthy mind. If the body is sick, the mind is also sick. When the body is strong and healthy, the mind is also strong and healthy. Violent temper outbursts cause serious damage to brain cells, introduce toxic chemicals into the blood, cause depression and general shock, and suppress the secretion of gastric juice, bile, and other digestive juices; they consume energy and vitality, hasten aging, and shorten life. When one becomes angry, the mind becomes turbulent. Similarly, when the mind is disturbed, the body is also affected. The entire nervous system becomes agitated. From the perspective of Ayur Yoga Vital, the being is re-educated to control anger by magnifying the state of LOVE, which arises from transforming thoughts into positive ones.
